Conferences
The Resource Renewal Institute has hosted several conferences over the years with the aim of bringing together leaders and practitioners in the field of green planning to share knowledge and experiences. The success of these conferences has served to measure the progress of this idea to date.

Silicon Valley Environmental Conference: Solutions for Sustainability, Evaluating Our Global Performance, February, 2000
Workshop co-hosted with Pacific Industrial and Business Association, Silicon Valley Manufacturing Group, UCSC Extension, and the Commonwealth Club-Silicon Valley. RRI and the Commonwealth Club convened a panel on Comprehensive Strategies for Building a Sustainable Region.
1999
Innovations in Environmental Management: Successful Models for a Sustainable California, Berkeley, California, October 1999
Workshop co-hosted with California EPA. Included participants from across California, and guest speakers from the Netherlands, Minnesota, Oregon, New Jersey, and Wisconsin.
Mexico Green Plan Conference, Mexico City, Mexico, October 1999
On October 14th and 15th, RRI co-hosted a conference in Mexico City with the Mexican Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources and Fisheries.

Green Plan Leadership Program Launch, San Francisco, December 1998
As part of the launch of the Resource Renewal Institute's Green Plan Leadership Program, RRI hosted a two-day seminar featuring leaders from the Netherlands, Canada, New Zealand, Minnesota, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Chattanooga, and elsewhere.

Private Sector Innovation in Environmental Management: The Dutch Green Plan Story, Seminar Series in Minnesota, Oregon, and California, February
RRI sponsored a visiting delegation of the 85,000 member Confederation of Netherlands Industry & Employers (VNO-NCW). Events included:
- Oregon Meeting with Governor John Kitzhaber and Natural Resource Agency Heads in Salem.
- Dinner Symposium in Portland co-sponsored by Associated Oregon Industries and Miller Nash, Wiener, Hager & Carlsen law firm.
- California Luncheon, Marin County co-sponsored by Marin Community Foundation.
- Luncheon in San Jose co-sponsored by the City of San Jose, Santa Clara Valley Manufacturing Group, and the San Jose Chamber of Commerce.
- Symposium at Hewlett Packard Headquarters, Palo Alto, sponsored by the Environmental Resources Management Program of Menlo College.
1995
Innovations in Cooperative Environmental Management, Washington D.C., September 1995.
RRI assisted the Royal Netherlands Embassy, with the involvement of the U.S. EPA, in the first conference of top-level multi-sector leaders in innovative environmental management in the Netherlands and the U.S.
2nd Conference of the International Network of Green Planners (INGP), San Francisco, California, June 1995.
Sponsored by RRI, the U.S. EPA, and the INGP, this conference was a three-day session in San Francisco attended by federal and state representatives, corporate officials, and nonprofit leaders from across the U.S. and from 40 nations around the world.

RRI was host to this international environmental workshop on cities at which urban sustainability issues were the focus. Sponsors included Marin Community Foundation, the Global Cities Project, Greenbelt Alliance, International City/County Management Association, and the Local Government Commission.
